This Orthodox prayer rope is fully handmade of polyester threads. It features 3 metal separation silver-tone crosses with the image of the Mother of God and inscription Agion Oros (Mount Athos) on the back of the cross.
The prayer rope is very durable, and the knots are tied perfectly to sustain continual everyday use. Easy to be stored in your pocket, put on your hand wrist, or stashed in your favorite prayer bag or jewelry box.
The prayer rope is part of the practice of Eastern Orthodox monks and nuns and is employed by monastics (and sometimes by others) to count the number of times one has prayed the Jesus Prayer or, occasionally, other prayers. Historically, the prayer rope would typically have 100 knots.
This prayer rope is made according to the ancient monastic tradition of tying the knots so that the knots themselves would constantly make the sign of the cross.
Each knot contains seven little crosses being tied over and over, which makes it almost impossible to untie. Quality craftsmanship and durable.
Wonderful gift idea for any occasion and special moments and celebrations.
